Abstract
RESUMEN: El promedio de edad de los pacientes ambulatorios atendidos en el
Hospital Regional de Loreto “Felipe Arriola Iglesias” entre Diciembre 2014 a
Febrero 2015 fue de 70.96 (DE: + 6.948), con un mínimo de edad de 61 años y
una máxima de 89 años. Distribuyendo esta variable se encontró que los de 61
– 70 años representaron el 51,7% (62), los de 71 – 80 años el 38,3% (46), y los
mayores o iguales a 81 años fueron el 10% (12). El 51.7% (62) fueron del sexo
masculino, siendo el 48.3% (58) del sexo Femenino. El 53.3% (64) son
convivientes, el 25% (30) son viudos y el 21.7% (26) son casados, no habiendo
resultados para solteros y divorciados.
OBJETIVO: Este estudio estuvo dirigido a determinar las características del
insomnio en el adulto mayor en pacientes ambulatorios del Hospital Regional
de Loreto. Diciembre 2014-Febrero 2015.
DISEÑO: Estudio transversal y prospectivo.
MATERIALES Y MÉTODOS: Se encuesto a pacientes adultos mayores quienes
acudieron en forma ambulatoria al Hospital Regional de Loreto (n = 120)
RESULTADOS: El 33.3% (40) de los pacientes ambulatorios atendidos en el
Hospital Regional de Loreto “Felipe Arriola Iglesias” entre Diciembre 2014 a
Febrero 2015 presentaron ausencia de Insomnio Clínico. Mientras que el 57.5 %
(69) presentaron Insomnio Sub Clínico, el 9.2% (11) Insomnio Clínico Moderado
y ninguno Insomnio Clínico Grave.

CONCLUSIÓN: El insomnio debe ser considerado como un diagnóstico por su
alta prevalencia en este estudio la cual se debe tener presente como
problemática en nuestra región.

December 2014-February 2015 DESIGN: Transversal study and prospective MATERIALS AND METHODS: To elderly patients who attended an outpatient at Loreto Regional Hospital (n = 120) was surveyed RESULTS: 33.3% (40) of outpatients treated at the Hospital Regional de Loreto "Felipe Arriola Iglesias" from December 2014 to February 2015 showed absence of Clinical Insomnia. While 57.5% (69) had Insomnia Clinical Sub, 9.2% (11) Insomnia Clinical, Clinical Moderate and none Grave. 9 CONCLUSION: Insomnia should be considered as a diagnosis for their high prevalence in this study which should be present as problematic in our region.
