Abstract
The objective of this research was to determine the in vitro antibacterial activity of ethanol extract of bark Cariniana decandra Ducke (Caspi tape) against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus bacteria aureus.Se Macrodilution applied the method of using strains of Escherichia coli ATCC 25922 and Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25923. the ethanolic extracts of bark decandra Cariniana Ducke (caspi tape) had a Minimum Inhibitory Concentration of 4 mg / mL against Staphylococcus aureus strain corresponding to moderate antibacterial activity; but they were inactive against the strain of Escherichia coli ATCC 25922. With respect to the same extract phytochemical screening for the presence of alkaloids, flavonoids, saponines, tannins, coumarins and reducing sugars was demonstrated; as well as, low presence of triterpenoids and quinone
