Abstract
La Dirección Estratégica es un proceso que se encamina hacia la consecución
y mantenimiento de una ventaja competitiva que permita a la empresa
continuar en el mercado. Además, esta ventaja tiene que ser conseguida por una
organización, la empresa, que es un complejo conjunto de personas, recursos,
procesos, culturas, etc. que se encuentra en continuo cambio como el entorno
que le rodea, por ello, la dirección de la empresa debe primero conocer hacia
qué objetivos encaminarse y después dirigir y coordinar todos los esfuerzos para
alcanzar dichas metas.
Este proceso debe realizarse de forma periódica y revisarse cada vez que un
cambio importante se produzca en cualquiera de los múltiples aspectos que
afectan a la empresa. Además, es fundamental que se implique en él a todo el
equipo directivo para que sea un proyecto asumido por todos sin reticencias,
resulte ilusionante y sirva como guía ante los diversos avatares en los que la
empresa se ve inmersa proporcionando una referencia para el contraste de las
diversas opciones posibles.
Otro aspecto fundamental es su plasmación en planes operativos que indiquen
con claridad las acciones derivadas y permitan realizar su seguimiento y
análisis de las desviaciones, para modificar y ajustar estrategias si fuese
necesario de forma que la empresa siempre se dirija hacia su objetivo.
La Dirección Estratégica constituye un enfoque de administración que se basa
en el rechazo del determinismo y la fatalidad; que cree en el esfuerzo del hombre
y de la entidad para elegir libremente el futuro de ésta; que apuesta por la
reflexión, los conocimientos, el rigor, a la vez que enfatiza la apertura al cambio
y la creatividad en aras de fortalecer la capacidad de adaptación y de innovación
que proporciona un marco para las decisiones esenciales de la entidad, en base
a una metodología que invita a la reflexión sistematizada, y una actitud activa
y orientada al futuro. Se puede considerar como un proceso global de toma de
decisiones orientadas a asegurar la supervivencia y funcionamiento de la
organización, en busca de unos resultados y un desarrollo satisfactorio.
The Strategic Direction is a process that is directed towards the achievement and maintenance of a competitive advantage that allows the company to continue in the market. It can be considered as a global decision-making process aimed at ensuring the survival and functioning of the organization, in search of satisfactory results and development.
