Renal Insufficiency is a disease that affects the world population, even older adults or individuals with Diabetes Mellitus. The Hidden Renal Insufficiency (IRO) are those initial stages of renal failure, and it is not detected with the methods usually used (serum creatinine, Cr), the patients with IRO present a normal creatinine (<1.3 mg / dl in men and <1.2 mg / dl in women), with a glomerular filtration rate <60ml / min / 1.73m². Our objective was to determine the prevalence of IRO in patients with diabetes mellitus type 2 treated at the Primary Care Center II San Juan Bautista-EsSalud-Loreto 2017. For this descriptive, observational study, with non-experimental, retrospective design, the universe was of 716 patients, the sample of 250 patients, diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus and Cr analysis. The data of the clinical records were recorded in a data collection form to be later analyzed in SPSS software version 22. The CR values were used to estimate the FG with the Modified MDRD-4 and Cockcroft-Gault formulas. The eFG values were 113.80 ± 56.28 ml / min / 1.73 m2 and 105.78 ± 57.04 ml / min / 1.73 m2 according to CyG and modified MDRD-4. The prevalence was 7.60% (CyG) and 3.60% (modified MDRD-4), the IRO is higher: when age increases (55.56% are greater than 65 years), in the female sex ( 55.56%), in those with a family history of IR (88.89%), in those with dyslipidemias (22.22%), and in those with normal weight (9.40%). Of the patients with IRO, 11.11% had glycosuria and 22.22% had proteinuria. The use of eFG formulas allows the diagnosis of IRO whose prevalence according to Cockcroft-Gault is 7.60% and of 3.60% according to modified MDRD-4.en_US
