Estado nutricional, clima laboral y estilos de vida saludables en el personal asistencial del Hospital Iquitos “César Garayar García” – Loreto, 2023

Abstract

The current study aimed to identify the nutritional status of the healthcare staff at the “Cesar Garayar Garcia” Hospital in Iquitos, 2023 year, and to examine the relationship with work environment and healthy lifestyle. This was a non experimental, quantitative, descriptive, correlational and cross-sectional study. The sample consisted of 260 health professionals, and instruments such as lifestyle questionnaires, work environment and nutritional evaluation sheet were used. In evaluating the healthcare personnel, it was observed that 21.2% had a normal BMI, 46.9% were overweight, 23.1% were classified as obese I, 6.5% are obese II, and 21.2% as obese III, across both genders. Additionally, abdominal circumference indicated that 55.8% were at very high risk, 26.9% at high risk, and 17.3% at low risk. Regarding the work environment, 53.5% of participants presented medium stress levels, 39.2% low stress, and 7.3% high stress. Furthermore, lifestyle assessments revealed that 80% of healthcare personnel in both genders exhibited unhealthy lifestyles, while only 20% maintained healthy lifestyles. The results indicate a statistically significant relationship between nutritional status, work environment, and lifestyle among the healthcare staff at the “Cesar Garayar Garcia” Hospital in Iquitos, 2023 year. El actual estudio se realizó con el objetivo de identificar el estado nutricional del personal asistencial del hospital Iquitos “César Garayar García” del año 2023 y la relación entre clima laboral y estilo de vida saludable. Fue de estudio no experimental, cuantitativo, descriptivo, correlacional y transversal. La muestra estuvo compuesta por 260 profesionales de salud. Se utilizó instrumentos como cuestionarios de estilo de vida, clima laboral y ficha de evaluación nutricional. En la evaluación del personal asistencial se observó que el 21.2% tiene IMC normal, 46.9% sobrepeso, 23.1% obesidad I, 6.5% obesidad II y 21.2% obesidad III, tanto en el sexo femenino y masculino. Así mismo, se tomó la medición del perímetro abdominal donde el mayor porcentaje presentó riesgo muy alto con el 55.8%, riesgo alto 26.9% y riesgo bajo con el 17.3%. Respecto al clima laboral el 53.5% presentó estrés medio, 39.2% estrés bajo y 7.3% estrés alto. Por otro lado, el estilo de vida determinó que el 80% del personal asistencial en ambos sexos presentó estilos de vida no saludables mientras que solo el 20% presentó estilos de vida saludable. En cuanto a los resultados; existe relacion estadísticamente significativa entre estado nutricional, clima laboral y estilo de vida del personal asistencial de salud del hospital Iquitos “César Garayar García” en 2023.
