Relación entre anemia ferropénica y caries dental en niños de 2 a 6 años del caserío Pueblo Libre sector 11 y 12, Belén 2012

Abstract

El presente estudio, tuvo como objetivo determinar la Relación Entre Anemia Ferropénica y Caries Dental en Niños de 2 A 6 Años del Caserío Pueblo Libre Sector 11 Y 12, Belén 2012. El tipo de investigación fue cuantitativa; el diseño fue no experimental, transversal correlacional. La muestra estuvo conformada por 91 niños de ambos sexos del caserío Pueblo Libre - sector 11 y 12, Belén. Los instrumentos utilizados para identificar el nivel de hemoglobina fue el hemoglobinometro modelo ST AT- Site MHgb y para la caries dental se utilizó el Índice ceo -d Entre los hallazgos más importantes se encontró lo siguiente: El tipo de Anemia ferropenica en niños fue de: 60 casos de anemia moderada (66%) y de 31 casos presentaba anemia leve (34%). El nivel de caries dental obtenida por el índice ceo - d fue de 6.56% alto, 31.87% moderado, 30.77% bajo y 30.77% muy bajo. En la anemia ferropenica moderada se encontró; ceo- d, alto 5.49% de los casos, moderado 18.68%, bajo 23.08% y muy bajo 18.68%. Para la anemia ferropenica leve se encontró un ceo - d; Alto 1.10% de los casos, moderado 13.19%, bajo 7.69% y muy bajo 12.09%. Para establecer la relación entre las variables se aplicó la Prueba de chi cuadrado, obteniéndose un chi = 2,864. gl = 3 con un P valor= 0,413; determinándose que no existe relación estadísticamente significativa entre la Anemia Ferropenica y la prevalencia de caries en niños del sector 11 y 12 de Belén.
