The study area is located on the left bank of the lower reaches of the Rio Itaya, in the jurisdiction of the district of Bethlehem, Maynas province, Loreto Region; established in rural area surrounding the town, adjacent to the district of Iquitos by land 15 minutes from metropolitan Iquitos and 30 minutes from the port waterway Santa Rosa de Bagazán. It is located in the 693085.70m UTM coordinates E and S 9581072.98m, with an elevation of 89 m. The aim of this study was to determine the sequestration (storage) of carbon in aboveground biomass of plant species found in home gardens of the village Cabo Lopez, Rio Itaya-2015. There is an inverse relationship between carbon storage and frequency in orchards that are located in flooded and non-flooded areas of the town center, by analyzing the proportion of the reservoirs by class, it is estimated that more often orchards, lower storage carbon and vice versa, rejecting the hypothesis. The biomass found, it was estimated that on average orchards have 56.52 MT / ha and a total value accumulated 1978.05 MT / ha in 35 orchards evaluated. As for the estimation of biomass component was calculated to component 2 (> 5 cm DBH), has a higher amount of net biomass 1976.91 MT / ha compared Component 1, with a value of 1.91TM / ha. For herbaceous biomass biomass net 3,787 MT / ha were reported. The importance of home gardens is reflected in the 45.7% acceptance, which warrants an excellent utility for the 35 families surveyed. The activities carried out more frequently in orchards is agriculture with 49.2% followed by the collection and sale of fruits with 31.4%. Income generating activities in the gardens of Cape Lopez bordering a range of 20 to 29 daily (28.3%) soles, however in contrast to the total household income, have lower values of 30 soles a day with 51.7% of total sample. These values exclude families that generate higher incomes than 50 soles a day that make a minimum population with 5.7% and in the case of income from the orchards, with maximum values of over 50 soles with 17.1% of the total sample.en_US
