Relación entre el biotipo gingival y las puntuaciones de la estética rosada y blanca en pacientes con implantes dentales atendidos en Clínica de Postgrado Unap 2015-2017

Abstract

Objetivo: Determinar la relación entre el biotipo gingival y las puntuaciones de la estética rosada y blanca en pacientes con implantes dentales atendidos en la clínica de postgrado UNAP 2015-2017 Material y métodos: Quince pacientes que habían sido tratados con implantes dentales se les llamó para evaluación de los resultados estéticos usando la puntuación de estética rosada y blanca PES/WES. Adicionalmente, todos los pacientes fueron diagnosticados según el biotipo gingival con el método de transparencia de sonda periodontal. Se realizaron pruebas estadísticas de asociación Chi cuadrado de Pearson y de comparación de medianas usando prueba de H de Kruskal-Wallis (p<0.05) Resultados: El puntaje de PES/WES fue aceptable con un promedio de 13.40 ± 3.87 (6.67 ± 2.88 para PES y 6.73 ± 1.98 para WES). Además, el mayor puntaje de PES/WES se encontró en el biotipo plano grueso 15.83 ±3.54 en comparación con el biotipo festoneado delgado 10.33 ±3.79. Se obtuvo una relación entre PES y biotipo gingival (p=0.04), el sexo ni la edad afectan esta relación. Conclusión: Existe una relación entre el biotipo gingival y el puntaje de estética rosada PES. Además, existe una tendencia a encontrar valores mayores de PES/WES en biotipo gingival plano grueso en comparación a biotipo festoneado delgado.

Aim: To determine the relationship between the gingival biotype and the pink and white aesthetic scores in patients with dental implants treated at the UNAP postgraduate clinic 2015-2017 Material and methods: Fifteen patients that had received with dental implants were called to evaluation of the aesthetic results using the PES/WES pink and white aesthetic score. Additionally, all patients were diagnosed according to the gingival biotype with the periodontal probe transparency method. Statistical tests were realised for evaluate the association was used Pearson's Chi square and comparison of medians were performed using the Kruskal-Wallis H test (p<0.05). Results: The PES / WES score was acceptable with an average of 13.40 ± 3.87 (6.67 ± 2.88 for PES and 6.73 ± 1.98 for WES). In addition, the highest PES / WES score was found in the thick flat biotype 15.83 ± 3.54 compared to the thin scalloped biotype 10.33 ± 3.79. A relationship between PES and gingival biotype was obtained (p = 0.04), sex and age affect this relationship. Conclusion: There is a relationship between the gingival biotype and the PES pink aesthetic score. In addition, there is a tendency to find higher values of PES / WES in gross flat gingival biotype compared to thin scalloped biotype.
