Abstract
siguientes valores:
Edad: Valor de P = 0.186, Sexo: Valor de P = 0.726, Edentulismo: Valor de
P=0.249, Enfermedad Sistémica: Valor de P = 0.57, Biotipo facial: Valor de
P=0.11
The main objective of this research was to determine which factors are associated with the presence of the elongation of the stylohyoid process in patients of the dental clinic of the National University of the Peruvian Amazon period 2006 - 2018. The work was observational, cross-sectional, retrospective. A population of 304 medical records was included, for the collection of data, a “collection sheet” was prepared. As for the statistical analysis, the statistical software SPSS version 22.0 in Spanish was used, and the chi-square test was performed to determine the association. The results show us that, of the 304 radiographs, 70.4% (214) presented the EPE, likewise of the 214, it could be seen that the most common type is elongated (type I), that is, 59.5% (181), according to the classification of the Langlais. With respect to age, a higher prevalence was observed in the group of adults, between 29 and 59 years old, with 72% (219), as well as in terms of sex, a higher frequency was observed in people of sex female representing 75.3% (229) of the cases. It was concluded that there is no association between the elongation of the stylohyoid process and the factors raised in our investigation obtaining the following values: Age: P value = 0.186, Sex: P value = 0.726, Edentulism: P value = 0.249, Systemic disease: P value = 0.57, Facial biotype: P value = 0.11
