Abstract
The exposed fracture is a type of fracture where is a communication between the affected bone and the exterior as a result of a concomitant injury to the skin and soft tissues that cover the focus of the fracture. It is generally associated with high energy trauma in multiple trauma patients. The most commom and serious complication of an open fracture is infection. The skin represents the main mechanical barrier against infection, and when an open fracture occurs, the wound is immediately contaminated by bacterial flora from the skin and the environment. This research study tries to support the relationship of management, the type of approach in the treatment of exposed fractures and the complications of the same that occur in the surgery service of the regional hospital of Loreto, through a study of methodology quantitative, in which the data collection process will be systematic and known statistical procedures will be used and applied to analyse the information, a non-experimental, descriptive, analytical, crosssectional design will be used, because it will be directed to observe, analyse, record and describe the behaviour of the variables used in a given time.
