Factores de riesgo para infección de sitio operatorio abdominal en el Hospital Regional de Loreto en los años 2013-2017

Abstract

INTRODUCCIÓN: La infección de sitio operatorio (ISO) constituye una causa importante de la morbimortalidad, estancia hospitalaria prolongada y aumento de los costos de atención de los pacientes sometidos a procedimientos quirúrgicos independientemente de la región intervenida; existe una lista de factores de riesgo propios del paciente como de las condiciones operatorias que tiene influencia en el desarrollo de ISO; la identificación de estos factores de riesgo ayudará al personal de salud a mejorar el cuidado de los pacientes y la disminución dicha patología en beneficio del paciente. OBJETIVO: Determinar los factores riesgo (edad, el IMC, la anemia, la diabetes mellitus, la modalidad de cirugía, la clase de herida, el tiempo operatorio y la estancia hospitalaria) para infección de sitio operatorio en pacientes sometidos a cirugía abdominal en el Hospital Regional de Loreto MATERIAL Y MÉTODO: Se realizará un estudio de casos y controles, con evaluación de 213 pacientes sometidos a algún tipo de cirugía abdominal, distribuidos en dos grupos: casos (71 pacientes con ISO) y controles (142 pacientes sin ISO).

INTRODUCTION: Infection of the operative site (ISO) is an important cause of morbidity and mortality, hospital stay and the increase in the costs of patient care for some surgical procedures, regardless of the region involved; there is a list of patient risk factors as well as the operating conditions that influence the development of ISO; the identification of these risk factors helps the health personnel to improve the care of the patients and the reduction of said pathology for the benefit of the patient. OBJECTIVE: To determine the risk factors (age, BMI, anemia, diabetes mellitus, type of surgery, type of injury, operative time and hospital stay) for infection of the surgical site in patients undergoing treatment. abdominal surgery at the Regional Hospital of Loreto MATERIAL AND METHOD: A case-control study was conducted, with evaluation of 213 patients, a type of abdominal surgery, divided into two groups: cases (71 patients with ISO) and controls (142 patients without ISO).
