The research that was developed was of a qualitative approach and grounded theory design; consequently, tourists who visited the city of Iquitos were interviewed and a certain group of artisans was observed. It can be noted that the current situation of artisanal activity in the Region is directly linked to the influx of tourists to the region. This direct causal relationship is not as strong in relation to other regions of the country, such as Cuzco with 95%, Huaraz 88%, Ayacucho 84%, the Amazon is only benefited by this statistic with 72%.
