Abstract

The purpose of this research was to determine the relationship between academic motivation and autonomous learning in secondary school students at Educational Institution No. 60083 Chimbote, Ramón Castilla 2025. The study was conducted as basic research, using a quantitative approach, correlational level, and a non experimental cross-sectional design, the sample consisted of 70 students to carry out the survey conducted by two questionnaires for data collection. The results indicate that, regarding Academic Motivation, out of a total of 70 students, 50.0% are at a good level, 29.0% regular, and 21.0% poor. Regarding Autonomous Learning, 47% are at a good level, 34% regular, and 19% poor. Accordingly, a high positive association was found between the variables with a coefficient of rho = 0.857 and p = 0.000. In addition, the intrinsic motivation dimension presents a coefficient and significance of rho=0.873 and p=0.000; furthermore, the extrinsic motivation dimension shows a coefficient and significance of rho=0.786 and p=0.000; finally, the amotivation dimension shows a coefficient and significance of rho=0.763 and p=0.000. These dimensions are directly related to autonomous learning.
