Gasto en atención estomatológica preventiva y su relación con el gasto en atención estomatológica recuperativa en la región Loreto periodo 2019-2023

Abstract

The lack of investment in preventive dental care, especially in vulnerable regions such as Loreto, increases the costs of recuperative treatments, affects the quality of life and overloads health systems. Promoting prevention is essential to reduce inequalities, optimize resources and formulate more effective and equitable public policies. Therefore, the present study aims to determine and identify the relationship between spending on preventive dental care and spending on recuperative dental care in the Loreto region for the period 2019-2023, from a quantitative observational approach and with a non experimental correlational design considering as the study population the economic information of the regional government of Loreto regarding the study variables, the analysis of spending on dental care in Loreto (2019-2023) revealed a lack of significant relationship between preventive and recuperative items (r = -0.352, p = 0.562), indicating that the increase in prevention has not proportionally reduced the need for recovery. By generic spending group, a significant evaluation was found (r = 0.900, p = 0.037), showing a joint growth, although without decreasing recuperative treatments. By source of financing, the rating was perfect (r = 1.000, p = 0.000), although without guaranteeing efficiency or impact. While spending on prevention grew, recovery decreased, with an accumulated difference of S/ 8,034,438.00. The dependence on ordinary resources (99.3%) and the disappearance of donations (12.3%) in 2022 affect the sustainability of services.La falta de inversión en atención estomatológica preventiva, especialmente en regiones vulnerables como Loreto, incrementa los costos de tratamientos recuperativos, afecta la calidad de vida y sobrecarga los sistemas de salud. Promover la prevención es esencial para reducir desigualdades, optimizar recursos y formular políticas públicas más efectivas y equitativas. Por ello, el presente estudio tiene como objetivo determinar identificar la relación que presenta el gasto en atención estomatológica preventiva y el gasto en atención estomatológica recuperativa en la región Loreto periodo 2019-2023, desde un enfoque cuantitativo de tipo observacional y con un diseño no experimental correlacional considerando como población de estudio a la información económica del gobierno regional de Loreto referente a las variables de estudio, el análisis del gasto en atención estomatológica en Loreto (2019-2023) reveló una falta de relación significativa entre los rubros preventivos y recuperativos ( r = -0,352, p = 0,562 ), indicando que el aumento en prevención no ha reducido proporcionalmente la necesidad de recuperación. Por grupo genérico de gasto, se encontró una evaluación significativa (r = 0,900, p = 0,037), mostrando un crecimiento conjunto, aunque sin disminuir los tratamientos recuperativos. Por fuente de financiamiento, la calificación fue perfecta (r = 1,000, p = 0,000), aunque sin garantizar eficiencia ni impacto. Mientras el gasto en prevención crecía, la recuperación disminuía, con una diferencia acumulada de S/ 8,034,438.00. La dependencia de recursos ordinarios (99,3%) y la desaparición de donaciones (12,3%) en 2022 afectan la sostenibilidad de los servicios.
