Estado nutricional, tiempo de tratamiento y ansiedad en pacientes con VIH del “Hospital Regional Felipe Santiago Arriola Iglesias” Loreto, 2023

Abstract

This study is to analyze the relationship between nutritional status, time of treatment and anxiety in patients with HIV at the “Felipe Santiago Arriola Iglesias” Regional Hospital of Loreto - 2023. The research was based on a quantitative approach, with a non-experimental design, correlational and cross-sectional approach. Non-probabilistic convenience sampling was used. The sample included 123 patients with HIV, aged between 18 and 66 years. The following anthropometric evaluations, body fat meter, medical history, and filling out the Zung test were used in data collection. 50.41% of patients had a normal body mass index, while secondly, 31.71% of patients were overweight. 51.22% presented low risk and 15.45% presented very high risk, according to the abdominal perimeter, 39.02% of the patients presented a high level of body fat and only 1.63% presented a low level. On the other hand, it was found that 51.22% of patients had received pharmacological treatment for more than three years, while 20.33% had received pharmacological treatment for less than one year. Regarding anxiety, it was determined that 57.72% of the patients did not show symptoms of anxiety while 42.28% presented clinically significant levels of anxiety. It was concluded that there is a statistically significant relationship between treatment time and abdominal perimeter.

Este estudio tiene como objetivo principal analizar la relación del estado nutricional, tiempo de tratamiento y ansiedad en pacientes con VIH del Hospital Regional de Loreto “Felipe Santiago Arriola Iglesias”- 2023. La investigación se basó en un enfoque cuantitativo, con diseño no experimental, de enfoque correlacional y corte transversal. Se utilizó como muestreo no probabilístico por conveniencia. En la muestra se incluyó a 123 pacientes con VIH, con edades entre 18 y 66 años. Se empleó en la recolección de datos las siguientes evaluaciones antropométricas, equipo de bioimpedancia (balanza, medidor de grasa, cinta métrica), historia clínica, y el llenado del test de zung. El 50.41% de pacientes presento un índice de masa corporal normal, mientras que en segundo lugar el 31.71% de pacientes presento sobrepeso. El 51.22% presento bajo riesgo y el 15.45% presento riesgo muy alto, de acuerdo con el perímetro abdominal, el 39.02% de los pacientes presento un nivel de grasa corporal elevado y solo 1.63% presento bajo nivel. Por otro lado, se encontró que el 51.22% de los pacientes había recibido tratamiento farmacológico durante más de tres años, mientras que el 20.33% había recibido tratamiento farmacológico durante menos de un año. En cuanto a la ansiedad, se determinó que el 57.72% de los pacientes no mostró síntomas de ansiedad mientras que el 42.28% presento niveles de ansiedad clínicamente significativos. Se concluyó que existe una relación estadísticamente significativa entre el tiempo de tratamiento y perímetro abdominal.
