Abstract
This research analyzed the relationship between direct loans and defaulting rates at state financial institution from January 2021 to June 2025, with the aim of evaluating credit risk behavior in a state-owned financial institution. The results of the general hypothesis demonstrate a moderate direct relationship between the outstanding balance of personal direct loans and the defaulting rate, with a correlation coefficient of 44.33%. This indicates that the growth of the loan portfolio has been accompanied by a relative increase in defaults, albeit to a lesser extent. These findings suggest that the expansion of personal credit, in a context of economic recovery and increased financial inclusion, presents significant challenges in terms of risk management. In this regard, the research provides relevant empirical evidence that contributes to understanding the dynamics between loan origination and defaulting in the public banking sector.
