Pensamiento crítico entre hombres y mujeres del quinto grado secundaria en la Institución Educativa Mariscal Oscar Raymundo Benavides, Iquitos 2021

Abstract

The purpose of the research was to explore possible differences in critical thinking among fifth-grade secondary school students, according to gender, at the Mariscal Oscar Raymundo Benavides school in Iquitos, 2021. A quantitative, basic, comparative methodology was used, consisting of administering a questionnaire to 225 students in the study sample. The results obtained using the Student's t-test revealed that the level of critical thinking differs significantly between male and female students, with a p-value of 0.01 and a significance threshold of 0.05. The inferential analysis of the dimensions of critical thinking using the Student's t-test revealed that there is a notable distinction in the first dimension, referring to analytical ability, in terms of the level of critical thinking by gender of the students. This is evidenced by a p-value of 0.01, which is lower than the established statistical decision threshold (0.05). Statistical analysis using the Mann-Whitney U test revealed significant differences in the level of critical thinking in the second dimension, the ability to infer (with a p-value of 0.002, which is less than 0.05). The consistency of the results was also reflected in the third, fourth, fifth, and sixth dimensions, related to the ability to explain (p-value of 0.001); interpret (p-value of 0.001); evaluate (p-value of 0.002), and self-regulation, a significant difference in critical thinking was found according to the student's gender (p-value of 0.003).

La investigación realizada tuvo como finalidad explorar las posibles diferencias en el pensamiento crítico en estudiantes hombre y mujeres de quinto grado de secundaria en el colegio Mariscal Oscar Raymundo Benavides en Iquitos, 2021. Se empleó una metodología cuantitativa, tipo básica y nivel comparativo que consistió en la administración de un cuestionario a 225 estudiantes de la muestra de estudio. Los resultados obtenidos mediante la prueba t-Student revelaron que hay diferencias importantes en el nivel de pensamiento crítico entre los estudiantes varones y mujeres, con un p-valor de 0,01 y un umbral de significación de 0,05. El análisis inferencial de las dimensiones del pensamiento crítico a través de la prueba t-Student reveló que hay una distinción notable en la primera dimensión, referente a la habilidad de análisis, en cuanto al nivel de pensamiento crítico por sexo de los estudiantes. Esto se evidencia con un p-valor de 0,01, que es menor al umbral de decisión estadística establecido (0,05). El análisis estadístico mediante la prueba U de Mann-Whitney reveló notorias diferencias en el nivel de pensamiento crítico en la segunda dimensión capacidad de inferir (con un p-valor de 0,002, que es menor que 0,05). La consistencia de los resultados se reflejó también en la tercera, cuarta, quinta y sexta dimensión, relacionada con la habilidad de explicar (p-valor de 0.001); interpretar (p-valor de 0,001); evalúa (p-valor de 0,002), y autorregulación, se constató una diferencia significativa en el pensamiento crítico según sexo del estudiante (p-valor de 0,003).
