Nivel de conocimiento y actitudes frente a la higiene oral en pacientes con implantes dentales colocados en la especialidad de periodoncia atendidos en la Facultad de Odontología UNAP 2017

Abstract

El propósito del estudio determinar la relación entre nivel de conocimiento y actitudes de higiene oral en pacientes con implantes dentales en la especialidad de periodoncia atendidos en la facultad de odontología UNAP 2017. El tipo de estudio fue cuantitativo, el diseño fue correlacional, transversal. La muestra estuvo conformada por 56 pacientes que portan implantes y fueron atendidos en la clínica de odontología. Los datos sobre conocimientos y actitudes se colectaron con una encuesta y con una entrevista directa. Los resultados fueron: Se encuestaron 56 pacientes, de los cuales el 73% fueron de sexo femenino, la edad media fue de 38 años (SD 11.4), el 42,9% de los pacientes tuvieron un conocimiento bueno, 48,2% regular y 8,9% malo. El 80,4% buena actitud y el 19,6% regular actitud. La correlación de spearman fue del 57% y fue estadísticamente significativa (P=0.001). Existe correlación entre el nivel de conocimiento y las actitudes de higiene oral en pacientes con implantes dentales.The purpose of the study was to determine the relationship between knowledge and attitudes of oral hygiene in patients with dental implants in the specialty of Periodontics at the Faculty of dentistry UNAP 2017. A crosssectional descriptive study was set in Iquitos. The sample was composed of 56 patients that carry implants and were attended in the dentistry clinic. Data on knowledge and attitudes were collected with a survey and a direct interview. Patients were mayoritary female (73% ) and the median age was 38 years (SD 11.4). 42.9% of patients had a good knowledge, 48.2% regular knowledge and 8.9% bad knowledge. 80.4% had good attitude and 19.6% regular attitude related with oral higiene. Spearman correlation between Knowledge and attitudes of oral hygiene was 57% and was statistically significant (P = 0.001). This study demostrated that exist evidence of correlation between Knowledge and attitudes of oral hygiene in patients with dental implants.
