Abstract
The study was carried out in Plot No. 03 of CIEFOR – Puerto Almendras, where 200 Calycophyllum spruceanum (Benth.) plants were planted. They were planted every 5 meters and in 10 strips. The greatest increase was shown in strip 6 with a value of 2.64 mm between the first and the last evaluation. The greatest increase in height was presented by strip 6 with a value of 10.05 cm between the first and the last evaluation. The strips with the smallest increase were strip 7 with 3.00 cm and strip 9 with 3.16 cm. The “F” test of the increase in height with 95% confidence probability defined that there is no statistical difference between the treatments evaluated with p=0.202, however, there was a statistical difference between the treatments evaluated (p=0.204) in the increase in height. The survival of capirona plants varies between 80% to 100% survival, while mortality varied between 5 and 20%. Likewise, the largest number of seedlings at the end of the trial is presented by the GOOD quality with 125 seedlings, which represents 62.5% of the total seedlings planted, followed by the REGULAR quality with 41 live individuals, which indicates 20.5% and finally, the smallest number of individuals were observed in the POOR quality with 34 seedlings, which represented 17.0% of the total. At a general level in the experiment, GOOD quality was recorded (strip 2, 3, 4, 7, 8 and 9). It is necessary to carry out similar studies with other native forest species in CIEFOR - Puerto Almendras.
