Abstract
This research aimed to determine the relationship between public spending on sanitation and access to water and drain in the province of Maynas during the period 2015–2024. Methodologically, it was developed using a quantitative, correlational, and non-experimental design with longitudinal data, utilizing secondary data from the Ministry of Economy and Finance and the National Household Survey. The results show that public spending on sanitation exhibits an increasing trend and a high proportion of capital expenditure; however, access to services shows a less stable behavior. Regarding the testing of the general hypothesis, a Pearson correlation coefficient of R=0.4089 was obtained, indicating a moderate direct relationship between public spending on sanitation and access to water and drain. Furthermore, the result was statistically significant at the 95% confidence level, therefore the hypothesis was not rejected.
