Relación entre la producción de carne de vacuno, porcino y aves y la producción pecuaria total en Loreto, 2015–2024

Abstract

The livestock sector of Loreto is a relevant source of regional food security, however, there is a lack of studies that quantify the relationship between its main meat components and total production. The objective of the research was to determine the relationship between beef, pork, and poultry production and total livestock production in Loreto during the period 2015–2024. The study was quantitative, descriptive correlational, with a longitudinal non-experimental design. We worked with 120 monthly records per variable, obtained entirely from official sources of the SIEA MIDAGRI, INEI, BCRP Economic Synthesis, applying census sampling. The statistical analysis was performed in RStudio (v.4.4.2), using descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, annual growth rates, CAGR and monthly seasonality indices. The results showed that poultry meat presented an almost perfect correlation with total livestock (r = 0.9918, p < 0.001), cattle a moderate-high correlation (r = 0.7584) and pork a weak association (r = 0.4452). The three meats represented on average 82.2% of regional livestock production, with poultry farming concentrating 70.4%. A cumulative upward trend of 27.5% was confirmed for the total livestock, with cattle being the species with the greatest relative expansion (CAGR = 7.84%). It is concluded that there is a direct and significant relationship between the variables analyzed. It is recommended to strengthen the technification of the pork and beef sector, and to diversify the productive base to reduce structural dependence on poultry farming.

El sector pecuario de Loreto constituye una fuente relevante de seguridad alimentaria regional, sin embargo, se carece de estudios que cuantifiquen la relación entre sus principales componentes cárnicos y la producción total. El objetivo de la investigación fue determinar la relación entre la producción de carne de vacuno, porcino y aves y la producción pecuaria total en Loreto durante el período 2015–2024. El estudio fue de enfoque cuantitativo, tipo descriptivo-correlacional, con diseño no experimental longitudinal. Se trabajó con 120 registros mensuales por variable, obtenidos íntegramente de fuentes oficiales del SIEA–MIDAGRI, INEI, Síntesis económica BCRP, aplicando muestreo censal. El análisis estadístico se realizó en RStudio (v.4.4.2), empleando estadísticos descriptivos, correlación de Pearson, tasas de crecimiento anual, TCAC e índices de estacionalidad mensual. Los resultados evidenciaron que la carne de aves presentó una correlación casi perfecta con el total pecuario (r = 0.9918, p < 0.001), el vacuno una correlación moderada-alta (r = 0.7584) y el porcino una asociación débil (r = 0.4452). Las tres carnes representaron en promedio el 82.2% de la producción pecuaria regional, con la avicultura concentrando el 70.4%. Se confirmó una tendencia creciente acumulada de 27.5% para el total pecuario, siendo el vacuno la especie con mayor expansión relativa (TCAC = 7.84%). Se concluye que existe una relación directa y significativa entre las variables analizadas. Se recomienda fortalecer la tecnificación del sector porcino y vacuno, y diversificar la base productiva para reducir la dependencia estructural de la avicultura.
