Abstract
Antecedentes
Background Ischemic cerebrovascular disease is the second leading cause of death worldwide behind coronary artery disease and heart failure. Up to 15-30% of ischemic strokes are caused by cardiac sources of emboli that are associated with a poor prognosis and a high rate of fatal recurrence. objectives Demonstrate the association between heart disease diagnosed by echocardiography and the appearance of ischemic CVD. Identify the usefulness of the echocardiogram in the diagnosis of heart disease. To assess the association between heart disease by echocardiography and the presence of ischemic CVD in patients with ischemic CVD who are hospitalized. Method This research will be of an observational, analytical type; The analysis will be made up of all hospitalized patients with a diagnosis of ischemic CVD at the Regional Hospital of Loreto during the years 2018 to 2020. Those patients with a confirmed diagnosis of ischemic CVD who have undergone echocardiography as part of their assessment will be chosen. The descriptive analysis of the quantitative variables will be estimated by means and standard deviation. For the bivariate analysis and calculation of association strength or inferential analysis, it will be carried out through the Chi square calculation, with a confidence level of 95% (p <0.05). Conclusions Several cardiac pathologies diagnosed by echocardiography (Atrial fibrillation, Left ventricular ejection fraction, Left ventricular hypertrophy, Motility disorders, Mitral valve stenosis, Mitral valve insufficiency, Aortic valve stenosis, Aortic valve insufficiency, Diastolic dysfunction, Intracavitary thrombus), are associated with ischemic cerebrovascular disease (CVD) in patients hospitalized at the Regional Hospital of Loreto during the years 2018 to 2020.
