Condiciones de vida en época de crecientes de ríos amazónicos en pobladores ubicados en fajas marginales de Iquitos, Loreto, 2025

Abstract

This work was carried out in peripheral areas surrounding the urban part of Iquitos, known according to Law No. 29338 as marginal strips, in Claverito, Belén low area, Morona Cocha, Bellavista, where the residents are affected every year by the (rising) floods of the Amazonian rivers, including Itaya, Nanay, and Amazonas. A descriptive statistic was used, with a sample of 315 households, where each head of the family was interviewed to assess their living conditions, from physical, material, and social well-being. These inhabitants are settled in these areas in more than 10, as reflected by 42.5%, where the rising rivers always and often affect their homes in 62.5% of cases, which generates additional expenses for them always and often (64.2%) to adapt their homes so they can withstand the floods, despite knowing that they should not live in these areas (54.9%). Access to food and basic services is restricted during these times always and often, 60% and 60.3% respectively. Regarding physical well-being, 28.6% report having an average state of health, 52.7% often experience some health discomfort; in terms of material conditions, 30.2% report that their income fluctuates between 200 and 400 soles per month, and 28.9% indicate that their neighborhood relationships are good.

Este trabajo se desarrolló en zonas periféricas que rodean a la parte urbana de Iquitos, conocidas según Ley N° 29338 como fajas marginales, en Claverito, Belén zona baja, Morona cocha, Bellavista, donde sus afectadas cada año, por las avenidas (crecientes) de los ríos amazónicos, entre ellos, Itaya, Nanay, Amazonas. Se utilizó una estadística descriptiva, con una muestra de 315 viviendas, donde se entrevistó a cada jefe de familia, para evaluar sus condiciones de vida, desde el bienestar físico, material y social. Estos pobladores están asentados en estas en más de 10, así lo refleja el 42,5%, donde la crecida de los ríos afecta sus viviendas siempre y muchas veces en un 62,5%, lo que les genera gastos adicionales siempre y muchas veces (64,2%), para adecuar sus viviendas y puedan soportar las inundaciones, a pesar, que ellos conocen que no deben habitar estas zonas, (54,9%). El acceso a los alimentos y servicios básicos se restringen en estas épocas siempre y muchas veces, 60% y 60.3% respectivamente. Sobre el bienestar físico, dicen en un 28,6% tener un estado regular de salud, 52,7% adolece siempre y muchas veces algunas molestias de salud; en cuanto a lo material, el 30,2% reporta que sus ingresos fluctúan entre 200 y 400 soles por mes, y el 28,9% manifiesta que sus relaciones vecinales son buenas.
