Abstract
The main objective of this research was to develop and implement a Business Intelligence (BI) system to optimize informational support for decision-making in the Informatics Office of the IPRESS I-4 Moronacocha during the year 2025, responding to a problem characterized by traditional spreadsheet procedures that generated inconsistencies, data duplication, and delays in the issuance of strategic reports. The study utilizes a quantitative approach of the applied type, with a pre-experimental single-group pre-test and post-test design, applied to a population consisting of eight key performance indicator (KPI) reports and five collaborators from the Informatics Office. The solution was developed following the phases of the Kimball methodology, using tools such as SQL Server for data consolidation, Navicat for migration and export processes, and Power BI for the construction of the interactive dashboard; the Student's t-test was applied to compare the mean response times, and the Cochran's Q test was used to analyze user satisfaction. Finally, the results obtained demonstrated a high level of system optimization, evidencing a reduction in report generation time from 33.25 to 4.75 minutes, as well as an improvement in strategic analysis time from 14 to 1.4 minutes, and a positive user satisfaction level reaching "Very Satisfied," allowing for the conclusion that the general objective of this research was successfully met.
