Competencias digitales y desempeño docente de la Institución Educativa Inicial Primaria y Secundaria N° 601491 Madre Teresa de Calcuta, San Juan Bautista 2024

Abstract

The study aimed to address the following question: What relationship exists between digital competencies and teaching performance at the Initial, Primary, and Secondary Educational Institution No. 601491 Madre Teresa de Calcuta, San Juan Bautista, in 2024? Its general objective was to determine the association between digital competencies and teaching performance within the institution’s study sample during the year 2024. A basic quantitative methodology was used at a confirmatory level with a non-experimental, correlational, field, and cross-sectional methodological design. The universe consisted of 74 teachers and a sample of 62, selected through stratified sampling by proportional and random assignment. Validated questionnaires were used to measure the study variables, employing descriptive and inferential statistics, specifically Spearman's correlation. The results showed positive and relevant correlations between digital competence and its dimensions with teaching performance: instrumental (ρ = 0.682; p < 0.001), didactic-methodological (ρ = 0.741; p < 0.001), and cognitive (ρ = 0.701; p < 0.001). The overall correlation between the two variables was high (ρ = 0.726; p < 0.001), which corroborated the general hypothesis: there is a positive and statistically significant association between the variables of interest. The study concluded that teachers' digital competencies are consistently associated with their professional performance.
