Conocimiento y aplicación de normas de bioseguridad por el personal de la institución Prestadora de Servicios de Salud I-4 Bellavista Nanay Iquitos 2025

Abstract

The present study sought to determine the relationship that exists between the knowledge and application of biosafety standards by the staff of the Health Service Provider Institution I-4 Bellavista Nanay, Iquitos 2025. The research was quantitative, with a non-experimental, descriptive, correlational, and cross-sectional design. The sample consisted of 90 workers. Data collection techniques included surveys and observation, and the instruments were a knowledge questionnaire and a record of the application of biosafety standards. The findings showed that 47,8% (43) demonstrated a fair level of knowledge, 27,8% (25) demonstrated a good level of knowledge, and 24,4% (22) demonstrated deficient knowledge. 53,3% (48) of the staff applied the standards appropriately, while 46,7% (42) did not apply them correctly. When evaluating the relationship using the chi-square test, a value of X² = 8,055 was obtained with a significance level of p = 0,018, which is below the established threshold (α = 0.05). It is concluded that there is a statistically significant relationship between the level of knowledge and the application of biosafety standards in the staff of the IPRESS I-4 Bellavista Nanay.

El presente estudio buscó determinar la relación que existe entre el conocimiento y la aplicación de las normas de bioseguridad por el personal de la Institución Prestadora de Servicios de Salud I-4 Bellavista Nanay, Iquitos 2025. El tipo de investigación fue cuantitativo, diseño no experimental, descriptivo, correlacional, transversal, la muestra estuvo conformada por 90 trabajadores. La técnica fue la encuesta y observación, mientras que los instrumentos fueron el Cuestionario de conocimientos y el registro de la aplicación de las normas de bioseguridad. Los hallazgos evidenciaron que el 47,8% (43) presentó un conocimiento regular, el 27,8% (25) evidenció un buen nivel de conocimiento, el 24,4% (22) mostró un conocimiento deficiente; el 53,3% (48) del personal aplicó adecuadamente las normas, mientras que el 46,7% (42) no las aplicó de forma correcta. Al evaluar la relación mediante la prueba de chi cuadrado, se obtuvo un valor de X2=8,055 con un nivel de significancia de p=0,018, inferior al umbral establecido (α=0,05). Se concluye que existe una relación estadísticamente significativa entre el nivel de conocimiento y la aplicación de las normas de bioseguridad en el personal de la IPRESS I-4 Bellavista Nanay.
