Ajo deshidratado (Allium sativum) en la dieta sobre parámetros productivos en pollos Cobb 500 en Zúngarococha

Abstract

The present research was developed in the Experimental Field of the Poultry Teaching and Research Project of the Faculty of Agronomy of the UNAP, located in Zúngarococha, with the aim of evaluating the effect of the inclusion of dehydrated garlic (Allium sativum) in the diet on productive parameters in Cobb 500 chickens. A completely randomized design was used with five treatments (0%, 0.5%, 0.75%, 1%, 1.25% dehydrated garlic per kg of feed) and four replicates per treatment, employing 120 birds in total. The evaluation period ranged from 14 to 35 days of age. Data were collected on final weight, weight gain, feed conversion and feed efficiency. Statistical analysis included ANOVA and Tukey's test, using RStudio and Excel. In addition, feed intake (3,220 kg/bird) was strictly controlled in all treatments to ensure that the differences observed were attributable only to the effect of dehydrated garlic. The results showed significant differences (p<0.05) in all the parameters evaluated, highlighting the treatment with 2.5% garlic (T4), which achieved the highest final weight (2148.25 g), greater weight gain (1519 g), better feed conversion (2.1285 kg) and higher feed efficiency (47.17%). It is concluded that the inclusion of 2.5% of dehydrated garlic significantly improves the productive performance of Cobb 500 chickens. Therefore, it is suggested that it be used as a natural additive in the diet during the growth and fattening stage, as well as complementary studies that address other production phases, as well as the effect of garlic on economic parameters and carcass quality.

La presente investigación se desarrolló en el Campo Experimental del Proyecto de Enseñanza e Investigación Avícola de la Facultad de Agronomía de la UNAP, ubicado en Zúngarococha, con el objetivo de evaluar el efecto de la inclusión de ajo deshidratado (Allium sativum) en la dieta sobre parámetros productivos en pollos Cobb 500. Se utilizó un diseño completamente al azar con cinco tratamientos (0%, 0.5%, 0.75%, 1%, 1.25% de ajo deshidratado por kg de alimento) y cuatro repeticiones por tratamiento, empleando 120 aves en total. El periodo de evaluación comprendió desde los 14 hasta los 35 días de edad. Se recolectaron datos sobre peso final, ganancia de peso, conversión alimenticia y eficiencia alimenticia. El análisis estadístico incluyó ANOVA y la prueba de Tukey, utilizando RStudio y Excel. Además, se controló estrictamente el consumo de alimento (3.220 kg/ave) en todos los tratamientos para asegurar que las diferencias observadas fueran atribuibles únicamente al efecto del ajo deshidratado. Los resultados evidenciaron diferencias significativas (p<0.05) en todos los parámetros evaluados, destacando el tratamiento con 2.5% de ajo (T4), que logró el mayor peso final (2148.25 g), mayor ganancia de peso (1519 g), mejor conversión alimenticia (2.1285 kg) y mayor eficiencia alimenticia (47.17%). Se concluye que la inclusión del 2.5% de ajo deshidratado mejora significativamente el desempeño productivo de pollos Cobb 500. Por tanto, se sugiere su uso como aditivo natural en la dieta durante la etapa de crecimiento y engorde, así mismo realizar estudios complementarios que aborden otras fases de producción, así como el efecto del ajo sobre parámetros económicos y de calidad de canal.
