Nivel de conocimiento sobre salud bucal de padres de estudiantes de una institución educativa primaria urbana y una rural, 2024

Abstract

The main objective of this research is to establish the difference in the level of knowledge about oral health among parents of students from an urban and rural primary educational institution in 2024. The research was quantitative, with a non experimental, cross-sectional, descriptive, and comparative design. A sample of 198 parents of students from urban and rural primary educational institutions was used to measure the level of knowledge about oral health. A questionnaire designed by Cupé-Araujo A. and García-Rupaya C. with 20 questions about oral health was used. The study found that the majority of the sample had a regular level of knowledge (39.4%), followed by good (31.3%), deficient (22.2%), and very good (7.1%). It was also found that the level of knowledge among parents of students from the urban institution was higher (13.38) than that of the rural institution (12.31). There was a significant difference in the level of knowledge between parents of students from urban and rural institutions (p=0.035). CONCLUSIONS: The majority of the sample had a regular level of knowledge. Parents of students from the urban institution had a higher level of knowledge than those from the rural institution, and there was a significant difference between the two institutions.

Esta investigación tiene como objetivo principal “establecer la diferencia entre el nivel de conocimiento sobre salud bucal de los padres de estudiantes de una institución educativa primaria urbana y una rural - 2024”. El Tipo de investigación fue cuantitativa. Con un Diseño de investigación no experimental, transversal descriptivo comparativo. Con una muestra de 198 padres de estudiantes de instituciones educativas primarias urbano y rural para poder medir el nivel de conocimiento sobre Salud Bucal. 107 padres del colegio urbano y 91 del colegio rural. Para esto se utilizó un cuestionario diseñado por Cupé-Araujo A. y García Rupaya C que cuenta con 20 preguntas sobre salud bucal. En el estudio se encontró que el mayor porcentaje de la muestra tuvo un nivel de conocimiento regular (39,4%), seguido de bueno (31,3%), deficiente (22,2%) y muy bueno (7,1%) también se encontró que el nivel de conocimientos de padres de alumnos de la institución urbana fue mayor (13,38) que el de la institución educativa rural (12,31). Y que existe una diferencia significativa entre el nivel de conocimiento de padres de alumnos de una institución educativa urbana y una rural (p=0,035). CONCLUSIÓN: El mayor porcentaje de la muestra tuvo un nivel de conocimiento regular. Por otro lado, se estableció que los padres de familia de la institución educativa urbano tuvieron mayor nivel de conocimiento que la institución educativa rural, existiendo una diferencia significativa entre las dos instituciones educativas.
