Gestión de inventarios y la merma de productos perecederos en Hipermercados Tottus Oriente S.A.C. Precio Uno Iquitos 2023

Abstract

Hypermarkets face difficulties in managing their inventories and minimizing losses of perishable products. This is largely due to the lack of an efficient system to control and monitor stored products. In addition, inadequate demand planning and product rotation exacerbate the problem. This research aimed to determine the relationship between inventory management and the shrinkage of perishable products in Tottus Oriente S.A.C. Hipermercados Precio Uno in Iquitos during 2023. The study was applied, descriptive-correlational, non experimental design, with a quantitative approach and cross-sectional, a sample of 25 employees was selected, which included managers, supervisors and employees of the company Precio Uno in Iquitos, the sampling was of the census type. The procedure used consisted of applying a questionnaire, using the Likert scale to evaluate the inventory management and shrinkage variables. To ensure the accuracy and consistency of the study, the reliability of the instrument used to collect data was evaluated, using Cronbach's Alpha as a measure of reliability, and according to the established range table, the instrument obtained a coefficient of 0.838, which indicates a good level of reliability for use in research. The analysis of the collected data, carried out using the statistical programs Excel and SPSS version 26, revealed crucial information about the perception of the variables studied. Regarding V1: Inventory Management, 32% of the survey participants rated it at a medium level, while the remaining 68% considered it to be at a high level. On the other hand, V2: Shrinkage was perceived as medium level by 16% of the sample, and 84% gave it a high-level rating. The findings obtained in the inferential statistics determined a Pearson's correlation coefficient r of -0.251 with a 2 tailed sig. of 0.226 > 0.005, which indicates that there is no significant relationship between both study variables. As defined in the information obtained through descriptive and inferential statistics, it is concluded that both V1 and V2 present moderately high levels of management, which demonstrates certain deficiencies in the handling of perishable products, caused by different factors. In the results of the inferential statistics, it was determined with Pearson's correlation coefficient r that both variables are not related to each other, and that Inventory Management and Shrinkage are related to other variables.

Los hipermercados enfrentan dificultades para gestionar sus inventarios y minimizar las pérdidas de productos perecederos. Esto se debe, en gran medida, a la falta de un sistema eficiente que controle y monitorice los productos almacenados. Además, la planificación inadecuada de la demanda y la rotación de productos agravan el problema. El presente trabajo de investigación, tuvo como propósito determinar la relación entre la gestión del inventario y la merma de productos perecederos en Hipermercados Tottus Oriente S.A.C. Precio Uno en Iquitos durante el año 2023. El estudio fue de tipo aplicado, de nivel descriptivo-correlacional, de diseño no experimental, con un enfoque cuantitativo y de corte transversal, se seleccionó una muestra de 25 colaboradores, que incluyó gerentes, jefes y colaboradores de la empresa Precio Uno en Iquitos, el muestreo fue de tipo censal. El procedimiento utilizado consistió en la aplicación de un cuestionario, utilizando la escala de Likert para evaluar las variables de gestión de inventarios y merma. Para garantizar la precisión y consistencia del estudio, se evaluó la confiabilidad del instrumento utilizado para recopilar datos, empleando el Alfa de Cronbach como medida de fiabilidad, y de acuerdo con la tabla de rangos establecida el instrumento obtuvo un coeficiente de 0.838, lo que indica un nivel de fiabilidad buena para su uso en la investigación. El análisis de los datos recolectados, realizado mediante los programas estadísticos Excel y SPSS versión 26, reveló información crucial sobre la percepción de las variables estudiadas. En cuanto a la V1: Gestión de Inventarios, el 32% de los participantes en la encuesta la calificaron con un nivel medio, mientras que el 68% restante la consideró de nivel alto. Por otro lado, la V2: Merma fue percibida como de nivel medio por el 16% de la muestra, y un 84% le otorgó una calificación de nivel alto. Los hallazgos obtenidos en la estadística inferencial determinaron un coeficiente de correlación de r de Pearson de -0.251 con sig. bilateral de 0.226 > 0.005, lo que indica la no existe de una relación significativa entre ambas variables de estudio. Según lo definido en la información obtenida mediante la estadística descriptiva e inferencial, se concluye que, tanto la V1 como la V2 presentan niveles medianamente altos de gestión, lo cual demuestra ciertas deficiencias en el manejo de los productos perecibles, ocasionado por diferentes factores. En los resultados de la estadística inferencial se determinó con el coeficiente de correlación de r de Pearson que, ambas variables no se relacional entre sí, y que la Gestión de Inventarios y la Merma se relación con otras variables.
