Abstract
This research will seek to explore the association between knowledge levels and domestic accident prevention behaviors, incorporating a gender-based perspective among cohabiting couples in the lower area of Belén, Iquitos, during the year 2025. A quantitative, non-experimental, correlational, and cross-sectional design will be implemented. Data will be collected through a self-administered questionnaire method, utilizing two structured instruments: one focusing on assessing awareness of common household accidents and another addressing routine preventive behaviors. Both tools will undergo validation using statistical measures, with an acceptability threshold of 80% or higher. The data will then be processed using SPSS software and subjected to descriptive and inferential analysis. Specifically, the Chi-square test will be applied to identify any statistically significant associations between the studied variables. It is anticipated that findings will provide insight into existing gaps between knowledge and practice, while also emphasizing how responsibilities are shared within households from a gender-sensitive viewpoint. Throughout the process, the research will adhere to core ethical principles, including autonomy, confidentiality, beneficence, non-maleficence, and justice.
