Factores de riesgo asociados al Hipotiroidismo Congénito en el servicio de neonatología en el Hospital Regional de Loreto, 2025

Abstract

INTRODUCTION: Thyroid hormone insufficiency from birth characterizes Congenital Hypothyroidism, which is the most common endocrine disorder in neonates and represents one of the most prevalent preventable etiologies of intellectual deficiency. OBJECTIVE: To determine the risk factors associated with Congenital Hypothyroidism in newborns born at the Loreto Regional Hospital during the year 2025. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The project will use a retrospective comparative approach that analyzes data from 2025, examining groups of neonates with and without the condition to identify differentiating factors. The study universe will be made up of all Neonates born at the "Felipe Santiago Arriola Iglesias" Regional Hospital of Loreto with the diagnosis of Congenital Hypothyroidism during the aforementioned period. Descriptive statistical procedures will be applied to display total numbers, percentage distributions, measures of central tendency and variability to characterize the affected neonatal population. Distribution-free statistical contrasts, including the Mann-Whitney U test and Chi-square, will be used to evaluate divergences in the data and associations between compared groups. In addition, a binary logistic regression will be performed to understand the impact of various factors on the presence or absence of Congenital Hypothyroidism. The research will require approval from the institutional ethics committee and will guarantee the protection of personal data through international biomedical research protocols. RESULTS: They will be obtained according to the completion of the schedule for data analysis. CONCLUSIONS: They will be carried out once the results have been obtained.

INTRODUCCIÓN: La insuficiencia de hormona tiroidea desde el nacimiento caracteriza el Hipotiroidismo Congénito, que constituye el trastorno endocrino más frecuente en neonatos y representa una de las etiologías evitables más prevalentes de deficiencia intelectual. OBJETIVO: Determinar los factores de riesgo asociados a Hipotiroidismo Congénito en los neonatos nacidos en el Hospital Regional de Loreto durante el año 2025. MATERIAL Y MÉTODOS: El proyecto utilizará un enfoque comparativo retrospectivo que analiza información de 2025, examinando grupos de neonatos con y sin la condición para identificar factores diferenciadores. El universo de estudio estará conformado por todos los Neonatos nacidos en el Hospital Regional de Loreto "Felipe Santiago Arriola Iglesias" con el diagnóstico de Hipotiroidismo Congénito durante el período mencionado. Se aplicarán procedimientos estadísticos descriptivos que permitan exhibir números totales, distribuciones se emplporcentuales, medidas de tendencia central y variabilidad para caracterizar la población neonatal afectada. Se utilizarán contrastes estadísticos de distribución libre, incluyendo la prueba de U de Mann-Whitney y Chi-cuadrado, para evaluar divergencias en los datos y asociaciones entre grupos comparados. Además, se realizará una regresión logística binaria para entender el impacto de diversos factores en la presencia o ausencia de Hipotiroidismo Congénito. La investigación requerirá aprobación del comité ético institucional y garantizará la protección de datos personales mediante protocolos internacionales de investigación biomédica. RESULTADOS: Serán obtenidos según la realización del cronograma para el análisis de datos. CONCLUSIONES: Se llevarán a cabo una vez obtenidos los resultados.
