Abstract
El presente trabajo de investigación consistió en evaluar el contenido de bixina,
fueron recolectados 11 morfotipos de Bixa orellana L. (Achiote), en la cual se
desarrolló un estudio descriptivo comparativo. Para la extracción del colorante
natural de las semillas secas que fueron sometidas a KOH al 2 %, acetona y
acetonitrilo. El colorante filtrado fue secado a temperatura de 56 a 58ºC durante 6
horas hasta obtener el colorante en polvo. El contenido de bixina fue hecho por
espectrofotometría UV-Vis. Los valores fueron calculados de acuerdo a la ley de
Beer. El análisis hecho por cromatografía liquida de alta eficiencia (HPLC) fue
detectado a 455 nm y comparando con un estándar. Los resultados obtenidos
indican que los morfotipos 11, 1, 10 y 9 tiene la mayor concentración de bixina
con 30.49, 28.57, 26.78 y 26.37 % respectivamente. Y la cuantificación de la
bixina en HPLC fueron los morfotipos 9, 10, 11 y 1 con 27, 27, 24 y 21%
respectivamente.
The present research work consisted of evaluating the content of bixin, 11 morphotypes of Bixa orellana L. (Achiote) were collected, in which a comparative descriptive study was developed. For the extraction of the natural dye the dried seeds were subjected to 2% KOH, acetone and acetonitrile. The filtered dye was dried at a temperature of 56 to 58 ° C for 6 hours until the powder dye was obtained. Bixin content was done by UV-Vis spectrophotometry. The values were calculated according to Beer's law. The analysis made by high efficiency liquid chromatography (HPLC) was detected at 455 nm and compared to a standard. The results obtained indicate that morphotypes 11, 1, 10 and 9 have the highest concentration with 30.49, 28.57, 26.78 and 26.37% respectively. And quantification with HPLC were morphotypes 9, 10, 11 and 1 with 27, 27, 24 and 21% respectively.
